ACTTAB

Project Overview

Link has worked with ACTTAB on a variety of print design projects ranging from press ads to design of a float for the Multicultural Festival parade. We also work to produce animated GIFs and other banner ads to be placed on the ACTTAB website.

Most recently Link has been engaged to provide all elements of an ACTTAB SportsBet marketing campaign, from devising the initial creative through to coordinating and designing TV, radio and print media advertising and related print materials.
Additional to this Link is redesigning the ACTTAB website, entirely refreshing the site’s look and feel. This work is scheduled for completion shortly..

Our Solution

Link works with the base ACTTAB brand and supporting product brands such as SportsBet to produce appealing and attention grabbing designs for promotions and location advertising in various forms including full colour ads for press, large format printing, sports ground scoreboard screens and various glossy publications. Link has worked with ACTTAB on promotional ads for events such as the Melbourne Cup, the World Cup, Rugby Super 14s, AFL and ARL season promotions and finals series’. We often co-ordinate print on behalf of ACTTAB and liaise directly with their suppliers to ensure all requirements are met.

In terms of the SportsBet campaign, Link’s coordinating role has largely consisted of consultation, which we have come to learn is the nature of TV commercial production. We have managed the varying demands associated with hiring camera, sound, directing and editing staff and met the broad range of issues associated with hiring talent and conducting a successful shoot within limited timeframes, followed by an audio recording for radio. We also worked closely with the client in preparing the creative, supplying numerous script versions for 10, 15 and 30 second commercial lengths.

As well as working with high res images taken during the SportsBet ad photo shoot to design and produce life size cut-outs and other print media products depicting the TV commercial themes and talent, Matt Gitteau, Link edited the final TV advertisement to suit a web version, incorporating Flash supers and animation.

Link’s approach to the new website design and development has involved ongoing liaison both with ACTTAB’s technical and marketing staff to ensure all requirements are identified. The new website is effectively two websites, allowing for the separation of a corporate site, suitable for the marketing of ACTTAB products to customers, from a betting site that allows for actual account holder activity. It has been developed in a test location, with new copy drafted by Link’s copy writer to suit the refreshed communications direction ACTTAB wishes to take with its customers. A new Content Management System (CMS) for the site has been established and a significant degree of migration of static information into the new CMS has been conducted.

Successful Outcome

Link has established itself as a reliable resource for ACTTAB to produce quality print design, web design and development, and an array of marketing accessories. Our ability to successfully produce and manage such a  broad cross section of design, development  and consultative results, often within short timeframes, has cemented our strong position in this preferred supplier arrangement.

Following on from the success of SportsBet campaign, website and other ACTTAB marketing work, Link is presently coordinating market research into the effectiveness and visibility of ACTTAB’s promotional pursuits.

The Link designed and developed ACTTAB Melbourne Cup 2008 site employed clever techniques to actively store ACTTAB's Racing and SportsBet data on our hosting server, specifically to combat issues raised by an influx of users around Melbourne Cup Day. We then gave this data a new look and presented it back for all the world to see. This successful approach will likely be adopted for future Melbourne Cup Day events.
